Kenzo Spring/Summer 2012 Collection.

Inspired by painter Ellsworth Kelly this collection combines effortless Parisian style with 1950s America. Bold abstracted shapes and rippling strucures reflect the undulating life of the coastal landscape.

Nanna Van Blaaderen.

Gorgeous gentle and sensual styling starring the wonderful creations of Nanna van Blaaderen. I love the way these pieces combine chunky and characterful textures with a soft sculptural craft aesthetic.

Colourful Quirky Characters.

I have a weakness for anything that is a great colour, a quirky character or a minature collection. These lovely photos by Caterina Gabelli combine all three so I am sold!

Work In Progress: Wood and Suede

This is one of my favourite samples I have developed and is probably one of the most playful, with endless possibilites and shapes that can be created...now to consider how I am going to use it!

Colour Transitions.

Have been liking these from some time now and finally found out who they are by!

Love the transition from the raw wood into vibrant man made colour.

Tze Goh.

The clean minimal lines of Tze Goh create serene and atmospheric sculptures.

Blanket-Cape.

'Fashion meets Function' with this cape come picnic blanket by Stella McCartney for Adidas. It utilises the multifunctional element whilst also enabling the wearer to deconstruct and reassemble the structure, playing on the emotional value and forming a connection between the object and the user.

Bits Bench.

Love this Bits Bench by Fulo, a great alternative upholstery and puts a new perspective on the what I could apply my plywood designs to. Hoping I get to see this in person at Milan Furniture Fair in a couple of weeks! Eek! (via Design Boom)

More Pleats and Ruffles.

Continuing on from my previous post about designer Felicity Brown, here are a few shots from her current A/W 2011 Collection and if you liked the last lot, you're sure to love these! A more serene and almost demure style, but maintains lift through the movement and rippling of the dip-dyed ruffles.

Accordion Cabinet.

Great design and really lovely rawness in the styling of this Accordion cabinet; the result of a collaboration between Elisa Stroyzk and Sebastian Neeb. Perfect combination of nostalgia and contemporary play!

Who would guess that this pile of mess could be made into these sculptural and decorative boxes? Not me! Can hardly believe i managed to do this. Progress is being made...finally!

Box Full of Suprises.

I have been doing a little research on boxes, what people put in them and the suprises that looking inside can hold. This is a really cute example by Thundercut.

Climbing Wall...

Amazing climbing wall by Nendo in the Illoiha Store on Omotesando. Wish I had known about this when I was in Japan, this would be a really fun edition to my living room! Take a look at his website, he's done some amazing work!

Hang It Up.

Making use of old chair backs Antonello Fusè up-cycles them to create unique coat hangers - too nice to cover up!

ABC...

This beautiful laser cut alphabet by Bookhou would look perfect on my wall!

Dunn and Dusted.

You can never have enough chairs! I would have each and every one of the beautifully handcrafted stools by Dunn Studio. They have that perfect cross of traditional materials and manufacturing with modern twist of technology that advances them into contemporary times.

Laser Cut Characters.

Really cute laser cut shapes and jewellery by Joanna Rutter. The little characters are really sweet and great inspiration! Could become my sideline if the laser cut plywood takes off!?

Cut. Paint. Stick.

More fun with paperclips... This time adding a touch of colour from the palettes I developed earlier. I love the  finish of the paperclips against the plywood and the distorted shadows will make wonderful prints. I think i can work with this, so this is hopefully the turning point! Things are looking up!
